I am concerned about the new Communication Law that has been approved.
One of my reasons for not wanting to be a journalist in the future was the way Media manipulates information and I thought that journalists didn't show the reality or they just showed a part of it. But now with this new law the reality we will have in our Media is going to be just the one that the goverment wishes us to believe. Without a Media that does not critize the governement, pushes it to be better and report injustice there is no democracy.

My holiday
This was a very relaxing holiday. Most of the time I spent with my friends going out, singing and playing games. I also made bread with my uncle, aunt, my parents, my sister, her boyfriend and a friend of mine. We also played tennis and watched a movie. The rest of the time I rested. I spent a lot of time with my sister because my parents went to stay a couple of days with my aunt and uncle. I also made some new friends. It was fun.

The importance of family
Yesterday we celebrated my greats aunts birthday, she turned 90 years old. I had such a nice time sorounded by my whole family and it made me realize how important family is. Sometimes we are so bussy with our lives that we don't spend much time with our families. Family is very important because it is your background, everything that our grand parents, our parents, aunts, uncles, cousins have lived have made us who we are, it is like a piece of them are in all of us and they have a piece of us also. We can learn so much with them and its is also a lot of fun!

Growing up
I'm going to talk about growing up. I just turned 21 last thursday. Every since I was a little girl I always wanted to be older so I could do anything I wanted and my parents would stop treating me like I was too little to understand or make my own decisions. It turns out that parents will always see you like a little girl or boy and they will always want to make the decisions for you. But, as you get older you also have to face new challenges and sometimes I wish I could go back and wait for my parents to decide when I'm confused. And what's really wrong is that when you have always had someone to decide for you, you have trouble trusting you will make the right decisions. So, if some day a have kids I will always encourage them to make their own decisions even when they are wrong, because that will make them stronger and independent.

This is me
My name is Valeria Hurtado, I was born in Quito 21 years ago. My life so far has been pretty good I think. I have a very nice family, my parents have always been very supportive and my older and my only sister has been really great also.
I consider myself as a ver social person, I enjoy meeting new and different people all the time, I think you can learn a lot from people by sharing experiences. One of the best experiences of my life was when I went to Finland for a year as an exchange student. It was awesome! I made so many friends from all over the world with different cultures and realities. It made me grow up so much and defenitly changed my perspective of life.
Right now I'm studying Communication at Universidad Internacional Sek. I chose this career because I love being around people, I think I can get to people easily. I enjoy reading and writting a lot.
My hobbies are playing tennis, dancing and reading. I also like traveling and I can't wait to go abroad to continue studying.
I believe everyone is here for a reason and that we can all help to change the world, I beleive people are good. I hate when we judge, and I say we because I also do it sometimes. I think that we should stop judging and start accepting ourselves as we are. Like one very special person told me one: "the more you accept the world as it is and don't try to change it, the closer you'll be to happiness".
I would love to have my own magazine one day and give space to express to the unheard. I would like to change journalism, start showing the truth and whats really important.
